In this session Ben will share how he uses a variety formative and summative assessment techniques in a variety of ways to assess most of the new curricular competencies. Ben has introduced strategies in which students practice specific curricular competencies in small groups and in lab activities while receiving specific individual feedback.  Some of these competencies are then formally tested at the end of the unit on the unit tests.  Students demonstrate the ability to perform other competencies in the form of formal lab write-ups and projects.  Teachers in all grades will be able to introduce these changes into their own activities.
